Mr. Curbelo:
When are you going to honor your constituents with your presence in a town hall meeting?
Maybe then we can all discuss, how is it the current healthcare system is failing us?
The healthcare bill that you so eagerly voted for last Thursday, aka Trumpcare, is nothing more than a masquerade, to funnel huge tax cuts to the top 2% income bracket, the monies for those tax cuts come from cutting funds to services like Medicare, Planned Parenthood, Meal on Wheels, Social Security, and many other services to provide needed help to our older citizens, women, and children.
In essence what you and the rest of the Republican Congress are doing is wealth distribution; from our tax payers funds to people that are already rich, and with all of your help, they will be getting richer, on the back of the rest of all of us.
You mentioned that our current healthcare system aka Obamacare, is failing your constituents in Dade and Monroe Counties. Why don't you speak to our esteem Governor, about expanding Medicaid as He was supposed to? The result, it would have expanded access to healthcare, for all constituents you claimed are lacking healthcare.
Do you even care the Trumpcare bill, will leave at least 24 million people without healthcare protection? Don't you care you are putting people's life in jeopardy? Have you even bothered to read what you signed unto?
By the way, I read members of Congress are exempt from using Trumpcare. I wonder, why is that?
Obviously, all of you prefer to keep your own healthcare benefits (not Trumpcare), paid by us tax payers - cost free during your lifetime. Also, your pension plan, paid by us - taxpayers. Which leads me to conclude, social security benefits will not be a prerequisite for your livelihoods.
In other words Mr. Curbelo, We, your constituents, are going to pay for your livelihood, for the rest of your natural life, for the honor you bestow on us, by You "Working for US".
How ironic it is by words and deeds, from you and your fellow Republicans in Congress, to refer to the same Government Services, when they are applied to Us as "Entitlements", "A Free Ride", lastly the moniker "Welfare Queens". I cannot help but wonder, who are truly the "Welfare Queens"?
Do all of us a favor, at the very least come clean with us, we have heard your talking points ad nauseam, as far as I am concerned, I am not buying whatever you and the Republican Congress are selling to US. It is an insult to our collective intelligence.
Disrespectfully,
Ana L. Riera
