I am asking for your help on a project I am working on. I am trying to identify either a date or set of dates that marked the beginning of the Democratic pushback on Iraq - by which I mean the date(s) sometime after the 2004 election that marked when the majority of elected Democrats (i.e., ones that had previously been either pro-war or unwilling to speak out forcefully on the subject) started to be markedly more aggressive in attacking the president and the Republicans - taking them on directly and calling them out on the fundamental problems with the war, etc.
I know it's impossible to point to any one moment in time when this began to happen, but my sense is that there might be one or a few good marking points out there that can now be seen to crystallize what was happening, and I am trying to identify when those might have happened.
So, if you have any thoughts and can provide some candidates for dates (could be the week or month if not the exact day) and an indication of what exactly happened at that point to symbolize the greater movement, I would really appreciate your input! Thanks.
