We’ve been told political revolution is a distant shore, but we know distant shores are not limitations, they are destinations. We will reach our destination. We will never give up, we will never turn back, we will always fight for what we believe in. We know how to do that, we are the heirs of seekers of peace and justice and equality who reached the distant shore of America on the wings of dreams, who opened doors to a better world.
Now they’re being slammed shut.
And locked.
That distant shore, that better world seems so far away.
But it isn’t.
Richard Bach . . .
Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly.
We believe in Bernie, we believe a better world is possible if we open doors together, if we walk through them together, if we reach for that better world together. We believe a brighter future awaits us beyond tomorrow, like a sunrise on a painted sky, where the clouds are hung for the poet’s eye . . .
We are looking beyond the primary wins and losses, we are looking beyond them with our understanding, we are tuning out the noise of the pundits and pollsters and the establishment politicians. We are looking above us and we see the sky, we remember why it is there and who it is for, we hear what it is telling us.
There are no limitations.
We will go on speaking truth to power with Bernie.
We will continue to see what is not meant to be seen—the political and economic degradation the corporate media will not speak of, the foreign policy horrors they will not talk about, the treachery of corporate politicians, the corruption they spread like a plague, the blood on their hands that can never be washed away.
We are the conscience of the Democratic Party.
We will not be silenced because of a loss in New York.
The future of the children of America is at stake, the future of the children of the world is at stake. Bernie understands that and so does everyone who supports him . . .
We are writing a new chapter in American history, we are the meaning and the purpose and the message of political revolution.
Be.
As a page that aches for a word which speaks on a theme that is timeless.
Human dignity has timeless value, social justice has timeless value, compassion for the poor and the exploited has timeless value, anthems of peace and justice and equality have timeless value, they have always been sung and always will be, they are the music of human progress.
Sing.
As a song in search of a voice that is silent.
Dance.
To a whispered voice, overheard by the soul, undertook by the heart.
We hear that whispered voice and remember the oppressed, the silenced, the fallen. We are sanctifying them. We are speaking truth to power for them. Dissent is a solemn and sacred moral obligation, protest is a solemn and sacred moral obligation, defending the powerless is a solemn and sacred moral obligation. We are defending the oppressed, the silenced, the powerless, the fallen. We are defending democracy itself.
That is the meaning of the Sanders Campaign.
That is the purpose of the Sanders Campaign.
I don’t believe in billionaires, I don’t believe in SuperPACs, I don’t believe in politicians who rake in cash from them, I don’t believe in this corrupt political system, it has lost its way, it has lost its legitimacy, it has lost its soul.
I believe in Bernie Sanders, I believe in the people who are supporting him, I believe in the progressive values we are all fighting for, I believe the Truth still matters, and we are going to keep telling it.
