That's right. Superior Court judge Peter Doyne says Governor Christie's education cuts fail to give NJ school children the "thorough and efficient education" guaranteed under the NJ Constitution.

Get ready for the Governor to accuse the NJ Supreme Court of "legislating" from the bench! It is no wonder the Governor travels around our state at "town halls" talking up his plan to change the court. After all, last year he decided to let a 1% tax on the wealthy expire, while cutting education, and crying " sorry kids NJ is broke". The tax cut was $1 billion, the cut to education $820 million, literally taking money from kids to give to wealthy people.
My children's schools were decimated by these cuts, so I say thank you Judge Doyne. If the NJ supreme court orders Christie to fully fund our schools, maybe my first grader can have an art, music, gym and world language teacher. Maybe children in my rural district won't have to walk on 40 mph county roads to get to school. Maybe my daughter who is entering middle school next year won't have to have 38 kids in her language class. Maybe we will reopen a school we had to close, not because of low enrollment but because we were desperate, after losing $8million to cuts. Maybe we can reverse the 25-40% increases in class size district wide that happened here. This is a good day, a very good day indeed!
