There's been a moderate amount of dicussion about NYT's decision to start charging for some of their content. I knew that I could always get NYT content and archives from home, through my library, and today I checked to see if I could get the TimesSelect content. No problem. My library gets to it through something called ProQuest. I went to Databases, selected New York Times current content and entered my card number, and that took me to the ProQuest search page. I put in "Krugman" and selected last 7 days for the search period, and got his column from today. I did some fooling around to figure out a broader search, and found that if you put in OP-Ed as the search term, that brings in most or all of the Op-Ed pieces. I searched on "Op-Ed" just from today and got Bob Herbert, Ann Althouse, some guy named Jim Collins, and somebody else I don't remember. I didn't get Krugman by doing that, but I did get to him just putting in his name. ProQuest seems to have mischaracterized his column as a letter.
