I didn't come up with the subject, instead I happened to come across it on Michael Savage's website, and I more or less found it to be an interesting take, if nothing for the generational differences introduced in this commentary.
Michelle Obama is now in Europe with her husband. The media seems to be trying to make her into another Jackie Kennedy. But Jackie Kennedy lived in another world.
First off, I happen to agree with the latter statement that Jackie Kennedy lived in another world. Jackie Kennedy has as much impact to me as the Queen of England in 1337 AD. Michelle Obama is a different story, because this is someone who I - and people of my generation - know at a level much deeper than a historical footnote. Sure, we don't know her personally, but at the same time, I doubt Mickey Savage hung out with Jackie Kennedy either. For people of my generation, Jackie Kennedy is someone who is way before our time, and we connect to things that existed "in our time" a lot more than things that didn't. America's future generations will probably start viewing 9-11 like my generation views Pearl Harbor.
