2nd Weekly KOS Poll of GOP Candidates

by NM Ray

On Friday afternoon, May 15, we introduced the Weekly Poll of Available GOP Candidates in the interests of assisting the GOP Thought Manipulators in selecting their 2016 Candidate.  There were over 100 votes cast in the interest of providing the GOP an insight into who the Readers of the Daily Kos thought would be the best candidate to keep the prying eyes of legislators away from their arms arsenals while monitoring the health concerns and vaginas of their wives', daughters' and sisters' reproductive choices.

The Big News this week is that Dr. Ben Carson topped the list in the Southern Regional leadership Conference held in Oklahoma City with 25% of the Straw Vote Poll.  Governor Scott Walker came in 2nd with 20% and Senator Ted Cruz came in 3rd with 16%.  The results of the SRLC seem to show that the GOP Thought Manipulators are taking the advice of the Readers of the Daily KOS quite seriously.  The Daily KOS poll seems to be faring quite well!

Last week, the Poll Question asked, " Who do you MOST like as the GOP presidential candidate in 2016?

Some concerns were raised about the meaning of the word "Like".  I agree that it is difficult to "Like" a Republican, unless they happen to be a friend or family member and you simply ignore all political issues.

This Morning, the Poll Question will be phrased differently,

Who do You WANT to see the GOP Nominate in 2016 for President?

1st Weekly KOS Poll of GOP Candidates

by NM Ray

It is already the Middle of May, 2015!  Almost a Year before the Primaries really heat up, but Rachel Maddow informs us that there are already Twenty realistic candidates for the GOP Nomination.  We have already had several GOP candidate forums with CPAC and the Freedom Summit.

But, what is missing from the GOP information is WHO do the readers of the Daily Kos really prefer as the ultimate candidate for the Republican Party nomination.  Who do the Readers of the Daily Kos think best represents the viewers of Faux Snooze?  Who do the Readers of the Daily Kos think will best be able to assure the Gun Owners of America that their assault rifles are safe from the prying eyes of the Democratic lawmakers?

Deflate Gate!

by NM Ray

Well, Justice in the NFL has been rendered.  Tom Brady has been suspended for four games.  The Patriots have lost a first round pick in 2016, a fourth round pick in 2017 and have been fined $1 Million Dollars.

The NFL, after an exhaustive study found that "it was more likely than not" that Tom Brady knew the footballs were deflated.

Now, the NFL also found that the Colts balls were not inflated correctly, but no sanctions were extended to the losers in the AFC title game.

We are going to soon see an uninterrupted series of Republican "Debates" among the latest group of Candidates for the GOP nomination for president.  None of them have anything new to offer!

The News Media, The MSM, The Liberal Media Establishment, Whatever YOU would choose to call IT will express dismay that Ms. Hillary Clinton is running unopposed, or that she is not being "Vetted" by the Media Circus, excuse me "Debates", that we have come to expect in our Presidential Nominating campaigns.

Let me propose what I would love to see Ms. Clinton provide for the American voters.  Join me below the Orange squiggle for more.

Why are there 538 Electoral Votes?  Who decided on these Numbers?  Does anyone ever question, Why!

What would be the effect of a larger Congress?  What would be the impact if each Congressional District had fewer residents?  What was the original intent of the Founders for the Congress?

What would John Boehner do if the Congress were larger?  Could the Republicans and Democrats continue with their Two-Party system if the Congress was a larger, more representative body?

Could the Koch Brothers, Exxon-Mobil, Walmart, ALEC and other Corporate interests buy the legislative influence if every Congressional District represented a smaller group of voters?  What would the influence of lobbying actually be in a larger body of representatives?

White Rage Against Progress - Ferguson!

by NM Ray

The Washington Post is highlighting an article by Carol Anderson, an Associate Professor at Emory University, originally printed August 29, 2014, that what is happening in Ferguson, Missouri, is not the result of Black Rage against Whites, it is the Result of White Rage against Progress.

Protests and looting naturally capture attention. But the real rage smolders in meetings where officials redraw precincts to dilute African American voting strength or seek to slash the government payrolls that have long served as sources of black employment. It goes virtually unnoticed, however, because white rage doesn’t have to take to the streets and face rubber bullets to be heard. Instead, white rage carries an aura of respectability and has access to the courts, police, legislatures and governors, who cast its efforts as noble, though they are actually driven by the most ignoble motivations.

White rage recurs in American history. It exploded after the Civil War, erupted again to undermine the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education decision and took on its latest incarnation with Barack Obama’s ascent to the White House. For every action of African American advancement, there’s a reaction, a backlash.

I had great hopes for President Obama ending America's long history of Racism, but the Republican Party greeted the President open hands with a Closed Fist.  The Republican Party Leaders schemed behind closed doors and conspired that no matter what the President proposed, they would oppose and they would obstruct.

Even when the President proposed the Conservatives' model Health Plan, created by their own think tanks and first implemented by a Republican Governor, the Republican legislators and Senators did not adopt it they actively derided the ideas that their own political planners had proposed.

And, then they decided on a nationwide scheme to limit the Vote.  Anderson states,

A little more than half a century after Brown, the election of Obama gave hope to the country and the world that a new racial climate had emerged in America, or that it would. But such audacious hopes would be short-lived. A rash of voter-suppression legislation, a series of unfathomable Supreme Court decisions, the rise of stand-your-ground laws and continuing police brutality make clear that Obama’s election and reelection have unleashed yet another wave of fear and anger.
I encourage the NAACP, Black Churches and other organizations to provide their members with Photo ID Concealed Carry Permit Cards as soon as possible, and then, and only then, will the Republican Party end the Fraudulent Farce that is Voter ID.

So, follow the Thoughts below the little Orange Squiggle.

American Media is being captivated once again with another beheading of another American in the Middle East by Islamic extremists.  It seems there is little if any concern with the Shooting and Killing of Americans by American Law Enforcement.  Since November 1, Law Enforcement has shot and killed 24 Americans.

According to the Tuskegee Institute figures, between the years 1882 and 1951, 4,730 people were lynched in the United States: 3,437 Negro and 1,293 white.3 The largest number of lynchings occurred in 1892. Of the 230 persons lynched that year, 161 were Negroes and sixty-nine whites.
So how many Police Shootings do we have in the USA?  Well, No One Knows.  Between 2003 and 2009 there 4,913 Police shootings in the USA and 61% were classified as homicide.  Since August 9, 2014, the day that Michael Brown was shot 83 more people were shot - just during the last 22 days of August - 2014.

Washington Post

Officials with the Justice Department keep no comprehensive database or record of police shootings, instead allowing the nation’s more than 17,000 law enforcement agencies to self-report officer-involved shootings as part of the FBI’s annual data on “justifiable homicides” by law enforcement.
Meanwhile, we are waiting for the Grand Jury in St. Louis County, Missouri to return their No-Bill for Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown.  Does anybody really expect the Grand Jury to indict a police officer for executing an unarmed black teenager who might have shoplifted a pack of cigars?

We are having a hard enough time finding support for a livable minimum wage.  I watched a YouTube Video this morning with Jesse Ventura.

Jesse Ventura Video

In the Video, Jesse Ventura addresses a number of issues:

1.  Why do we have Political Parties?
2.  There is no Voter Fraud, there is Election Fraud.
3.  Why isn't there a Maximum Wage?  There's a maximum wage in professional sports.
4.  Why is the United States engaged in perpetual war?

Improve White House Petitions!

by NM Ray

Can we improve Petitions to the White House.  Last night, Rachel Maddow presented a remarkable story about a Petition to the White House that had garnered more than 150,000 signatures.  The subject of the Petition was to require all local city and county police officers to wear body cameras.  This is a great idea.

I like the idea of Political feedback.  If the President is going to Respond to a Petition of 100,000 signatures, why shouldn't the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the United States Senate Respond as well.  We are the People, and We do pay their salaries.  We provide them with offices, healthcare, gyms, golf courses, restaurants, expenses.  We treat them mighty well.  It's time that they work for US.

Is it Constitutional to Shoot a Suspect?

by NM Ray

In Ferguson, Missouri, Police Officer Darren Wilson shot an 18 year old Michael Brown and it is really not clear why!  Police Chief Jackson immediately tried to disparage Brown's reputation by releasing video showing an individual that Jackson alleged might be Brown shoplifting a package of cigars, but then Jackson said that the incident had nothing to do with the shooting.

Another question remains, when may an officer shoot a suspect?  Is it a constitutional use of force to shoot a suspect?  Was Michael Brown even a suspect subject to an arrest in Ferguson, Missouri on the night that Darren Wilson shot him?  Does the misdemeanor arrest rule apply in Missouri?

Would an arrest and charges against Officer Darren Wilson help to alleviate some of the tension in Ferguson, Missouri?

The Republican Party has been attacking government since before Ronald Reagan.

You cannot trust government.  The government is ineffective and cannot operate anything in a truly cost-effective manner.
What is the solution?   Republicans are offering themselves as the solution.
