According to the "Miami Herald" and "St. Petersburg Times" Karen Thurman, Florida Chairman of Democratic Party, has been receiving $3,500/month from former Republican Chairman, Alex Cardenas. She is being paid to lobby in Washington for Miami-Dade. This is in addition to her $100K salary for her position as Chairman.
This prompts many questions: To which employer does her loyalties lie--the Democratic Party or Republican Party? Is this not a conflict of interest? During the 2006 election, why did Karen Thurman not "get out the vote" and provide candidates from Congress on down with money to beat opponents? Why did Florida not go "Blue" like the rest of the country?
