I've watch in the Pennsylvania 15th district in good and bad years if the Democratic Party’s Presidential,Gubernatorial,Senatorial candidates win big or not. The district has stayed red from 1999-now
you may ask why. Who is at fault why do we keep failing to win?
Well it's the DCCC they and their Friend governor Rendell forced on us incompetent, corrupt candidates and candidates that weren't even from the district. While running off qualified and more electable candidates by threatening to cut them off financially if they won the primary. To the point in some years large numbers of democratic voters simply left the Congressional candidates spot blank.
Let's go thru the list of the past 5 candidates that were forced on us by the DCCC and Ed Rendell.
1. Ed O’Brien - easily pigeon holed candidate uncharismatic 2000 and 2002 was chosen to make the unions happy
2. Joe Driscoll - 2004 more or less was a carpet bagger that was moved into the district just before the election. He didn’t' understand the district and didn't even move into the main part of the district he was running out of Montgomery county part of the district.
3. Charles Dertinger- another union candidate has lots of issues which everyone locally knew and beyond that the party didn't bother to fund his candidacy 2006
4. Sam Bennett 2008- truly one of the worst political candidates I've ever seen in my life a chronic failed candidate that Rendell cleared the field for. That had a questionable history inside the Rendell administration. She only got 41% because of party line democratic voting in a district where Obama got 58% and had a any other democrat been running in this district they would have won this district, including the one that had enough signatures to file but was kept from filing by a threat from either Rendell himself or someone in Rendell’s staff. Democrats, who voted for every other Democrat on the ballot intentionally didn't vote for Congress, to not vote for Sam Bennett. We lost this seat because Rendell and the DCCC rewards her with an open field and cost us an almost sure thing seat
5. Mayor John Callahan- 2010 well I really am not sure if this was just the tea party issues. so i can't really. Though based on the past history of this District no one has been elected to this seat in the past 4 decades without first having served in either the Pa state house or senate.
But I’m sure you get this picture and I can't imagine this type of interference is just limited to this district.
