It might be instructive for Americans to get a flavor for the overwhelming support that Barack Obama has among Europeans. I am currently living in the Paris area for a couple of months, and almost everyone I talk to is strongly hoping Obama gets elected. A few are amazed that it is even possible that a black man could become president. There was even a news story the other night where a reporter suggested that France hold primaries like the U.S. so that a more diverse range of candidates could compete for the presidency here. Perhaps a good idea, but, IMHO, their 2-3 month election cycle is far better than our 2 year process. But I digress from my main topic.
