I usually come to you with Progressive politically-themed videos.  I have much love for the DKos community, met many of you at Netroots Nation, and love this site's focus on politics and national change.

In the spirit of this season (by which of course, I mean, ChristmaHannukRamadanaWannza), I've been working on a very different kind of project recently.  With the economy being what it is, there's some people who are suffering terribly in my community, and this is about them.

Dear Daily Kos Community:

For too long, partisan prostitution-related tax inquiries have been directed at the wrong source.

ACORN is a group that helps some of the poorest communities in America.  Senator Vitter (self-described "most outspoken critic of ACORN") is attacking an imperfect but important organization that isn't about prostitution, sex trade, or exploiting people.

There are many thing that can be said about an evil cat like Ahmadinejad, but perhaps more important is what he says about himself. (Or what people with access to Final Cut Pro can make him say about himself).  In any case, here is the dictator in his own words (although I don't speak a lick of Farsi, I had to guess--I'm pretty sure I got the gist of it).

Are you on Facebook?

Good God, why not?  It's a great way to meet up with old friends and mock old enemies.

For example--if you are Facebooked up--consider this an invite to join a call to symbolic, just-because-it-feels-good, less-effective-than-cathartic "action."

There are many truly game-changing, paradigm-shattering political actions one can take.  This isn't one of them.  But I think you'll enjoy it nonetheless.

Marriage equality is an important human rights issue.  As progressives, we can easily agree on that.

This story has been picked up by Americablog and Talking Points Memo.

Here is the original source, in all its glory.

The McCain campaign seems to think that "experience"--his chief talking point--is whatever he wants it to be.  No seriously, check it out.

Miami Herald:

Sen. John McCain's senior foreign policy advisor cites a steamy romance 50 years ago with a Brazilian babe among the things that illustrate the candidate's decades-long interest in Latin America.
