Democrats are too often spineless milquetoasts when it comes to messaging. DWS runs an unimaginative, centrist organization (i.e. bland, boring), when DNC should be more aggressive in pointing out differences between Democrat & Republican tickets across the board. She might as well be paid by the RNC.
This is the kind of ad the DNC should be running now, and hammering it hard:
(maybe Susan Sarandon narrates?)
“We’re Democrats.
In the past eight years, under President Obama’s leadership, we’ve brought the American economy back. (Images of GM/Ford workers) We’ve added new jobs to the economy for the past 76 months, and in 2010 alone, we created more jobs than Bush did during his entire administration.
The Bush Administration. That was a disaster, wasn’t it? (Image of Bush on flight deck with Mission Accomplished banner, Katrina) The economy was in shambles, we were mired in two wars, and people worldwide thought that the United States had lost its way.
Despite rabid opposition from Republicans from the first day of his administration, (McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz filibuster) President Obama has still managed to enact health care reform, pass an equal pay for women act, bring Osama bin Laden to justice, (Boehner crying) and fix the mess the Republicans left behind. (Boarded up suburban home) And we didn’t have to trample civil rights or scapegoat our fellow Americans to get it done. (Westboro/Klan/anti-trans protesters)
We’re Democrats. We got you out of the last Republican disaster (images of foreclosures, bank meltdown, layoffs, Iraq).
We’ll keep you from the next one too (Trump with Sarah Palin).
