Whoever you vote for it will have an impact on my life, my children and grandchildren and even our species as a whole.
If you don’t care about anything at least try to inform yourself on what issues are important to advance the state of our human species.
Even if you don’t care about poverty, at least try to understand the plight of those who are living a marginal life due to little access to necessities.
Even if you don’t care about climate change, at the least understand that we are in climate crisis and the next US leader will determine if the next generations will have a livable planet.
If you don’t care about US trade laws. at the least try to inform yourself about how our trade deals have made our working class lose good paying jobs to overseas workers, so that they now are either unable or can only marginally support their families.
If you don’t care about racial justice, at least try to put yourself in the place of young blacks, Latinos and other minorities who have no hope that they can break from the culture of mass incarceration, police brutality and the cycle of poverty.
If you don’t care about income inequality, understand that income inequality at the current level is unsustainable and could result in more than just peaceful revolution.
If you don’t care about free college tuition, at least understand that losing the bright minds of a generation puts the US at a disadvantage globally, and creates domestic problems of increased crime, drugs and incarceration.
If you’re fine and don’t care about affordable health care, try to consider that because of our corporate health system, the US is paying more per capita for health care then all other industrial nation.
If you don’t care about the high cost of prescription drugs, at least know that there are many who can not afford to buy prescribed drugs, including seniors who cut their pills in half because they can’t afford the cost of their drugs.
If you don’t care about how many wars we rage overseas, at least try to consider the human cost and the cost to our budget that places the MIC (war machine) needs over the needs of our dangerous, crumbling infrastructure.
If you don’t care that many who work 40 hour weeks have wages so low that they live in poverty, understand that it is the American taxpayers who have to bail out the low wage corporate overlords by having to subsidize low wage employees for food, medical care and even housing.
If you don’t care about breaking up the big banks, understand that without Glass-Steagall, which keeps investment banks from gambling with your savings, we are still at risk for another major crash.
If you don’t care about expanding Social Security, you should know that it is the sole income of most of our seniors, who somehow have to live a reduced existence trying to live on $10-12 thousand a year.
If you don’t care about immigrants and their plights from oppression and their efforts to try to raise their families in dignity, understand that the US economy is dependent on immigrant labor and it is in all our best interests to see that they are able to come out of the shadows and gain the full rights of American citizenship.
So yes, your vote influences me, my family, our species and our planet.
There is only one presidential candidate who has a strong response to the issues listed above. Inform yourself.
