Siglines are a favorite part of DK for many of us, providing insight into diarists’ souls, camaraderie for the like-minded, and — best of all — humor to get us through dark days.
Throughout the election campaign, many of us bore proud, optimistic, future-looking siglines, reflecting the hopes of a revitalized left, of shattering the ultimate glass ceiling, of the progress a Democratic President and recaptured Senate (and House — oh, how we fantasized!) would effect.
But now (in the winter of our discontent, not made glorious summer by this son of New York’s racist landlord, Fred Trump), our hopes dashed, many of our siglines mock us.
So, Kossacks, have you changed your sigline to reflect the current zeitgeist, the struggle ahead of us, your hopes — or fears — for the future?
If so, please share them here.
