Last year, the Dover, PA school board made news by becoming the first to mandate the teaching of "Intelligent Design" in district schools. But earlier this week, the good people of Dover responded at the ballot box, sending all eight of the school-board members up for reelection out on their asses.
And now, Pat Robertson is prophesying death and destruction for Dover: "I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city." Apparently, the Intelligent Designer suffers from such a lack of precision that he has to wipe out entire towns to prove a point. Predictable for Robertson, who together with buddy Jerry Falwell, famously blamed the 9/11 attacks on feminists, homosexuals, and the ACLU. Perhaps everyone in the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on 9/11 was an accessory to the Satanic liberal conspiracy, but somehow I doubt it.
I'm no theologian, but if there is a God with a habit of knocking off his enemies, wouldn't you expect him to be a bit more like a sniper and little less like an atom bomb?
