I preface with this: I supported Bernie in the primary, voted for Hillary in Texas in the general. I am a white heterosexual female, college graduate, 50 year old HR professional.
I am tired of Hillary supporters blaming Bernie and his supporters for Clinton’s EC loss. And to be clear, her loss was only in the EC. I don’t need to remind you that she won the popular vote by 2.5 million. She lost the EC by thin margins in 3 states, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Hillary did not lose because of anything other than her campaign’s inability to shore up previously solid blue areas of the aforementioned states. We can cast around and blame each other, and fight amongst ourselves. At this point, none of this serves any purpose, other than to make us feel superior to those we blame, or somehow still in control. We’re not. Unless we decide to put this election behind us, figure out what we want this country to look like going forward, and start working together to get there.
I, for one, really want to protect our national parks from being sold off.
What would you like the Democratic party to stand for tomorrow?
