I work at an essential job site. Thankfully I'm on day two of a 3 week vacation, because I was going to go nuts at work. Not over managements efforts to keep my co workers socially distant. Really, more frustrated at the complainers.
Probably the worst thing that has bothered me the most recently is people's angered reactions over managements attempts to help social distance us while at work. Some people outright say defiant things, such as they wont unless explicitly ordered. Every response is either 'why' or 'we can't help it', I often don't see support or understanding for changes. Maybe it's because the complainers are the loudest.
Finally found an 8 min speech from an epidemiologist in Chicago that explains 'why' so well to me. In order to help understand why our government is making a big deal about this.
It's not political. Just explains the science of it in easy to understand terms for our societies safety. I really don't think enough people understand what the reason for all the efforts at social distancing is for. I really hope they do soon, before an elderly or unhealthy loved one in a few weeks finds the hospitals full.
I feel the arguements laid out here would be helpful, so please watch when you have a moment.
I don't subscribe to wapo but they made it 2 minutes
