Over the last couple of weeks, I've had to stop, slow down, take several deep breaths, and realize that I haven't actually heard President Obama speak directly about his idea for health care reform. I decided then to wait and see, to give him a chance to make his own arguments, to hear from him tonight about the way forward.
I know many of us think we know what he's going to say (and I have my own fears). I know many of us are worried about his lack of leadership on this issue and the lack of a coherent message coming out of the White House. I know many of us are frustrated at how things are progressing.
But the bottom line is...
We just don't know what he's going to say tonight, what he's going to push for, or how far he's willing to go.
Until I hear differently, I'm going to wait and see. I'm going to watch his speech tonight. I'm going to trust him that he hasn't forgotten the people who worked hard to get him into office, and that he's going to do the right thing.
