Sunday morning just before 7 am, retired Pennsylvania State Trooper Clarence Briggs killed Daniel Crouse , a 55 year old toll collector and Ronald Heist ,a 71 year old security turnpike employee at the Fort LIttleton interchange on the Pa Turnpike. Apparently, before retirement Briggs did patrol duty on the turnpike and familiar with the the collection procedure ,tried to rob an armored vehicle that collects toll fees . After commandeering the armored vehicle, he drove it to his personal vehicle, tried to offload the money, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire with police and Briggs was killed. He received 5k a month in retirement, which is decent income to live in this rural area. Sorry to be short on the details, but I am nursing bronchitis which has run rampant through the four state area.
