For those of you who haven't read the January 4 New Yorker article, Jeb Bush - Swamped, it also indicts Hillary Bill. His Florida campaign manager was Alfy Funjal, who along with his brother own 150,000 acres of sugarcane bordering the Everglades. The brothers -- who own the world's largest sugar empire, are one of Florida's largest election campaign donators and Washington DC sugar industry lobbyists -- housed their sugarcane workers in Third World shanties until the mid-1990s, soon after a court awarded the workers $51 million. Their sugarcane business, which is annually doled out federal price support subsidies, generates revenues of $5 billion year, enough for brother Pepe to comfortably sleep in his 8000 ft.² Palm Beach mansion as well as on his yacht that seasonally plies the party circuit from Palm Beach to Sag Harbor, NY. The brothers are really warmhearted hosts, though, who welcomed Hillary Bill to their 7000 acre Dominican Republic estate in January 2015. Presumably, the presidential couple flew into the Dominican International Airport on the welfare recipients' estate. Swamped, by the way, refers to Jeb's gutting the Everglades Forever Act so Florida's warmhearted brothers could continue to poison the swamp with the runoff of the sugarcane harvests. And we pay for this shit.
