First, we (we as in I and people I just met who took me to Fulton) stood in the rain for over an hour to get inside the gym. We were incredibly lucky, as we got in like 10 minutes before the speech started. A LOT of people got turned away. I wouldn't even try to venture how many showed.
Anyway, I felt that Kerry's speech was powerful, informative, and very well written. Kudos to his speech writer. The speech was interupted several times because of raucus applause. We in attendence noted how ironic it was that while Cheney was to give a foreign policy speech, and turned it into a campaign speech, Kerry was billed to give a campaign speech, and ended up giving a foreign policy speech! (a good one at that)
I think what all this proves is that Kerry is a capable and thoughtful man who will make a great President. His vision for the world is nothing like that of the PNACers. Once he is elected, I have no doubt that he will lead America back to its position of dignity and respect, that has been lost by Bush.
Oh, and as expected, there were Busbots there. They shouted "Suport our Troops, Vote Bush". Well, a Veteran walked right up to them, and asked "Why don't you serve for 4 years!" They got very quiet. But then some asshole tried to offer him some waffles. I shouted "6 more months" and flipped them off. And then we left them to their own devices. Sad, silly people they are. They don't deserve a good President. But the rest of us do. SO vote for Kerry, cause I sure will.
