Many of us had already formed the impression that Trump’s diet is somewhat less than ideal. But recent tidbits reveal the extent to which it is so, and further confirm that the president is an even weirder guy than we had thought.
From the recent book by his former aides Lewandoski and Bossie:
Trump’s appetite seems to know no bounds when it comes to McDonald’s, with a dinner order consisting of “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted[...]”
In another episode, Lewandowski describes how staffer Sam Nunberg was purposely left behind at a McDonald’s because Nunberg’s special-order burger was taking too long. “Leave him,” Trump said. “Let’s go.” And they did.
Trump’s fast-food diet is a theme. “On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke,” the authors write.
The plane’s cupboards were stacked with Vienna Fingers, potato chips, pretzels and many packages of Oreos because Trump, a renowned germaphobe, would not eat from a previously opened package.
The book notes that “the orchestrating and timing of Mr. Trump’s meals was as important as any other aspect of his march to the presidency,” and it describes the elaborate efforts that Lewandowski and other top aides went through to carefully time their delivery of hot fast food to Trump’s plane as he was departing his rallies.
Leaving your buddy behind while he is waiting for his order? That is uniquely bad behavior verging on frat-boy antics, especially from a guy who presumably knows what it is like to crave the one-of-a-kind blend of sodium, carbohydrates, and preservatives routinely served up by the McDonalds corporation. But of course it is Trump, so the lack of manners is what we’ve come to expect, though it is still jarring to see the individual manifestations of assholery.
I would never imagine anyone’s diet consisting of such a large quantity of McDonald’s, KFC, pizza, Oreos, and potato chips who was not 1. and undergrad, and/or 2. stoned, and even then, I’ve never met anyone who could consume such massive quantities as Trump. I am not a medical doctor, but I would wager that this diet would be of great concern to a medical professional evaluating the habits of any individual, let alone a 71 year old man who doesn’t get any exercise.
