Audacity:
1. The willingness to take bold risks
2. Rude or disrespectful behavior; impudence
This key word couldn't be more apropos to our day to day experiences with this President's term of office.
The President has been unwilling to propose bold ideas (defined by me as 100% progressive) while his opponents have certainly mastered the art of treating him rudely and with impudence.
President Obama leads the country in a statesman-like manner and consistently brings his ideas forward in a manner that reflects his deep study and consideration of all sides. His opening offers tend to greatly resemble what his ultimate compromise should be. Many tout this as pragmatism, I would only point out that while pragmatism is a tremendous strength, prudence requires a different pathway in negotiations.
For example:
50 is a logical "compromise" when one desires to negotiate between 1 and 100; but prudence requires my opening bid to be no less than 75; while true boldness would be asking for 100. Too often it seems this admistration starts at 50 and then displays "pragmatism" that drags the other side kicking and screaming to 75 or higher.
Even as talk radio callers (usually TEA Party members) complain that this President is the biggest "liar" (yes they boldly proclaim him a liar while simultaneously arguing about the greatness of the country and it's "right" to Superpower status) and the most liberal President in history. According to his enemies (and make no mistake these people do not regard him a worthy "opponent"), he is the biggest spender, responsible for the biggest job losses, deficits and bailouts in the country's history while barely following the Constitution, if at all. One would think that people dressing up in "Colonial era" costumes might know something about actual history. Even in the face of all this "audacity" from his detractors, this President refuses to take bold steps in dealing with them.
So today, Mr. President, I implore you to extend the audacity that you've shown on the social issues (and I am aware there are many here who'd disagree with this assessment) to the plight of jobs in America.
Wake up Mr. President, those of us who love you can and will forgive you when you fall short but those who HATE you will never like you even as you disregard and disappoint us. Your pragmatism to date has drawn only scorn and more audacity from them.
PLOT A NEW COURSE:
"Damned if I do, Damned if I don't....so......DAMMIT I WILL"
I will not abandon you but I'd like to see more AUDACITY and an incredible amount more fighting for what's right!
P.S. Do yourself and the country a favor and FIRE ERIC HOLDER.
