One thing I've always wanted to find out is how active members and visitors on Daily Kos are in their local Democratic Party. I think it would give a sense at least heading into the mid-term elections whether we need to significantly amp our efforts to win back either the House or the senate or both.
Let's face it. We have to do well especially this election cycle, and heading also into the 2008 presidential elections. All the issues are on our side: Culture of corruption, fiscal mismanagement, the mess in Iraq, Medicare benefit fiasco, stagnating US wages, the on-going CIA leak case. On and on.
Being successful in any election requires heavy support financially but more importantly winning the ground game. That's why a weakened Democratic Party infrastructure in most states has cost us dearly in the past decade electionwise.
Building local party infrastructure requires an active local base of support. So join your local Democratic Party, and help us win in 2006.
