I have never understood why, if men felt they could dictate the most personal decisions a woman can make, why we couldn't turn it around and have us decide which men have to have vasectomies and can or cannot use Viagra and Cialis, or have circumcisions, or wear condoms.  If you think you have the right, even though you have no idea of my circumstances to tell me what to do with my body, than why don't I have the right to tell you what to do with yours.  Right now, I'd like to see that man, Mr. Murdoch (and what is wrong with his voice anyway, is it a cold or is it something God gave him to deal with?)  who just said that rape was something GOD decided. Because God decides this,  abortion is wrong for rape.

WHAT?  What kind of God condones rape?  Mr. Murdoch, you actually BELIEVE that a God has that kind of time to be that cruel and horrible to point down to a woman and say, hey, horrible man, rape that woman, and woman, I am going to let those sperm through that rape barrier (ask Akin, he knows all about it) and you will get pregnant and HAVE THAT BABY.  Not in a million years.  If this is the God you believe in, I want NOTHING to do with him or the whole concept.  This is the same God, of course, that told the Taliban to get on that bus and shoot that fifteen year old girl in the face SOLELY because she wanted an education?  THAT GOD?

You think that someone who is supposed to lead us all to peace and eterninity in the clouds, and enlightenment would decide to do something like that?  Jesus, the guy that is supposed to be, in some religions, God's son, preached peace above all things and to love one another.  He must have believed in RAPE and that once you were raped you were morally obligated to have that child, right?  Seriously, I think you men are really sick.  Mentally ill.  I don't believe in God, and this is the reason why.  There is no such fantasy for you men, and this is a fantasy.  A sick, perverted fantasy made up to cover up your idiotic need to control women.  Women don't need your control, or want it.  We want to make up our own minds.  That's all.  We want the right to make up our own minds.  You have it, and we deserve it.

So, rape is a form of conception, is it?

by jjmn

First of all, this is something that Paul Ryan AKA Eddie Munster, who wants to be Vice President of the United States actually said, in an interview with WJHL on August 23, admits that he believes 1) rape is a form of conception and 2) it’s equal to conception by consensual sex because both produce life and this is why he opposes the rape exception for abortion. Are you afraid yet?  Then comes Todd Akin, who I question whether he lost brain cells, a lot of them when he lost his hair.  He said "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let's assume maybe that didn't work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist, and not attacking the child." (Notice that there is no mention of the horrible situation the woman has just gone through...that doesn't matter, it is only a woman after all, and we are talking about zygotes.).  Ah!  I will give you five million of Donald's "lying bag of poop" money if you show me where that is actually proven.  Then Akin further embarrassed himself by saying that Claire McCaskell was more "ladylike in the last election", which I had NO idea was a part of the criteria needed for entry into the Congressional chamber, and actually thought went out in the 1950s.  He is but one of the GOP dopes out there.  There are more....sad to say.  The same night over in Indiana, Richard Murdoch, in a debate with his Democrat opponent, and the libertarian one said: "I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen,"    Just a day or two ago, Romney taped an ad for Murdoch, and now has refused to take it down.  Now, that says to me that he agreed with the basic sentiment of Murdoch's comments.  If you disagree, you demand that this ad not run, and you back away from this jerk, which says to me that Romney agrees with what Murdoch said.

I have been saying for a long time that if we hit these goons right where they love, namely THEIR business losing money, or not doing as well as it used to, perhaps they would think again before they, let's say, told their employees that they will be fired if they vote for Obama.  That kind of thing is illegal, you cannot tell someone they HAVE to vote a certain way, nor can you threaten them to vote a certain way or there will be consequences.  This has been happening way too often in the Thug "I'm the king of the world" businesses.  We can fight back.  It is the easiest thing in the world.  Which company is the worst and always rates the worst at helping their employees out with fair wages, health care, any of that?  What company has caused more small town stores to close, and to undercut many other stores with sub-quality, foreign made products?  WALMART.  None of us should ever, EVER shop at Walmart.  Yes, it may be cheaper, but it's stuff is REALLY cheaper (like not made well, and will fall apart after a few washings), it won't last long and by shopping there, you are saying that what they are doing is A-OK with you.  Target is based in Minneapolis, and they give back 5% of pre-tax profits every year to charity.  You can even go in and tell them which charity or school you would like your money to go to, and it will go there (provided you use their Target charge card)...the charity money is for EVERYTHING, cash, check, everything.  So, now I read what the big cheese at Papa John's Pizza has said.  Follow below:

Unfortunately, we have turned into a world where we need to know everything RIGHT NOW because we can, by just surfing the net within minutes of the end of the debate to find the numbers.  Who won?  If you were not watching, and went to FOX or some other insipid website, CNN, unfortunately has become FOX lite, you would know that Romney just whomped the President who stood there like a stiff.  I watched it and saw a raging maniac...I want the stage, I will interrupt, I will take over the conversation, I will not answer a question if I don't like it, I'm surprised he didn't wink.  On the other podium, the President just had to get out of this debate without losing his fabulous cool, his likeability, his presence.  He did just that and more.  His numbers went UP for likeability, and Romney's went down.  That is not good.  This was the one big chance that Romney had to get back ALL the states that matter or he would not win.  Ohio is a MUST win for Romney, and the numbers did not change at all in Ohio.  The Carolinas have always been close, and this week BEFORE THE DEBATE they pulled a little closer.  The blue ridge Mountain folk are tradidionally red, and the cities are blue.  Obama is still ahead in both places, but it is close.  Florida closed the gap a bit, but again that was before the debate.  I think once the seniors realize what Willard REALLY said about medicare, they will turn back to Obama, and he will win that state.  We still have the problem of dishonorable and dishonest men running the state, and the voting machines, and they got caught, so a lot more people will be watching Florida than they counted on, so I think we will also be OK in Florida.

The problem with Willard is that he is not likeable.  Obama, you would have him over for a beer.   Romney, you wouldn't want him near your house.  I can just imagine him demeaning someone who worked so hard to have some tid-bits and drinks and him saying, this looks like it came from 7-11, I don't eat that kind of food.  He came across as the guy at the car lot who wants you to buy that car that has almost bald tires, but "a great paint job", and "doable" mileage (150,000), meanwhile thinking in his head, my commission on this if I get this dolt to buy this wreck will be almost $900.  This is going to be good.  I felt that the whole debate.  I felt Willard was trying to sell anything, something that would stick to the wall.  He was told, probably over and over, slow down, don't say anything that they can use for anything, be Presidential, smile, be likeable.  He can't.  The gaffe about PBS is almost good enough all on its own to get anyone who strayed from the President back.

HEY!!! Let's save this nation!

by jjmn

I just had knee surgery.  I didn't want to, but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it was getting so bad that I was really worried that I would get my state supplied health insurance yanked if Willard got into the White House.  I did one knee, waited two months, Obamacare passed, I breathed a sigh of relief, but went ahead and did the other one, just in case, and have been following all of Romney's idiotic nonsense during my recovery (Don't do two knees in two months...it is brutal).  I turned off my TV about three years ago, and have read SO many wonderful books, and even re-read Atlas Shrugged, which I read back in high school, was one of them.  All of this recovery time, gave me a lot of time to think, about our country, about my daughter, just turned 21, and about what is actually important...to me, to my little family, to this country I love.  I think our country has lost the vision of what is really important, not only for things in this country, but for the world.  Peace, is so very important, but has become a cliche.  A clean planet, one that is not going to melt itself into nothingness is vitally important.  New cleaner forms of fuel have been critical for forty years, and we have done NOTHING.  Our country's infrastructure is crumbling before our eyes and that is critical.  I live in Minneapolis, and was listening to the radio when the bridge here collapsed.  It was a boondoggle, but it was a bridge being fixed, just had too many big huge machines on it during rush hour.  Nobody stopped to think. It is time to stop to think about a lot of things.

What is REALLY important to us?  I believe we got into the disaster we are in because somehow it became more necessary to have a 52 inch plasma TV than to pay down your credit card bill, and to save for your children's college educations.  I remember getting by just fine with a 13 inch black and white tv with 5 channels and NO REMOTE as I grew up.  We kids thought it was cool to have any tv at all.  Mom let us have one hour per night to watch tv, and with four kids, it was a big argument every night to decide what we would watch.  Some nights were easy, some were hard.  Laugh In, an easy night.  Monkees or Gilligan's Island, hard.  My Favorite Martian, I Dream of Genie, Mayberry RFD, all great shows, but we couldn't watch them all.  Somehow, we have decided that we HAVE to watch them all.  We don't.  We can get by with an hour, and no new tv.  Now, the typical Mom & Dad would just charge a tv on an already pretty maxed out card, but one where we have to keep up with the latest.  We don't need to do that either.  I for one, would be fine with my old black and white tv, but I am sadly in a very small minority.

So, using that though as the basis to decide on what we could do to fix some of the problems of this nation, I made this list of things that could fix a few things.  Feel free to argue with me, change things and add to it.  It is just my starting point.  I care so very much about this country and I want us to come back stronger and more principled and way more intellectual, less worried about THINGS and more worried about our planet.

Let's sink this revolting ship, NOW.

Boy oh boy, do the Thugs have a plan for us.  I can really hardly wait.  I want to start by saying that a country that does not have a middle class, and is based on a 1% billionaire or so class, and the other 99% poor, is not only unworkable, it is an abysmal failure.  We know you love Ayn Rand, Paul.  The rest of us read it in high school, thought it was really cool, then actually GREW UP, and realized that what she was really proposing was not only unworkable, it was RUSSIA.  It was the millionaires controlling the top tier, 1%, and everyone else is poor.  It was a plan that said the government pays NOTHING, and if you are not rich, too bad.  Start standing in line, and wearing cardboard shoes.  What's wrong with that?  EVERYTHING.  Let's look at a couple other countries that are using the same plan.  Mexico is one.  Very small percentage of the population has all the money, and the rest have to come here to try to feed their families.  They are not coming here because they want to leave Mexico.  They want to keep their children from starving, and we have no viable way for them to work and go home, because the Thugs have pushed this to the back burner over and over again, because we cannot have this.  We HAVE this.  We have more than 20 MILLION people working and living here because they cannot EAT with the wages they get from begging on the street or selling chiclets.

Can Willard be de-selected?

by jjmn

I was reading the latest news from the Bain Capital mess, and if ANY of you believe that he did not lie to the SEC and was not the sole shareholder getting all the money, in addition to his $100,000 paycheck, you must still believe in Santa Claus.  Willard continued to get all kinds of money he stashed in the Caymans, Switzerland, and wherever else they won't check and see what you made.  He left?  Had he left and left Mass., he would NEVER have been allowed to run for Governor.  You have to be a resident of the state for seven years before you run.  Why was he still getting a paycheck and obviously other monies if he left?  He even had the audacity to say that he came back to Mass. to attend shareholders meetings.  If you have nothing to do with a company, why would you attend shareholder's meetings?  He owned the company until 2002, and still made a boatload of money on it.  He was not living in Mass. and got away with that one.  I think that is why he thinks he can lie with impunity and never have to pay the piper.  I wish with all my heart that the SEC check into the Willard situation and bring him in front of them and make him tell them why he signed as sole owner, president and office boy until 2002, if he had nothing to do with the company.

This guy will not release any of his tax returns (interesting point that McCain saw Romney's tax returns and picked Sarah Palin) because I believe they will show a great deal of discrepancy in what he said and what was the truth.  This man could not tell the truth if it was on a teleprompter.  He has proven over and over to lie about things that don't even matter, and believes that it is OK because he is a wealthy guy and he is above all that that us poor people (anyone without a million or so) have to do.  How ANYONE could look at this guy and a) like him and b) vote for him is beyond any comprehension I could ever begin to understand.  But, I don't understand why someone would not vote for someone because they're black, so I must not have my head on straight.

So, here's the million dollar question:  Can the Republicans, seeing the sharks in the water, and Romney in a rubber raft with two hundred holes in it, dump him?  Could his people that he picked up in each state vote for another candidate?  If it were possible, would you not think that the Republican party is starting to see the stars in the sky and the stink on their candidate and are beginning to have back door meetings to put someone else on the ticket?

I really don't know.  Is it legal and possible to dump Willard and put in a candidate who isn't so hopelessly out of touch with human beings and so arrogant that a lie to him is just part of a daily chat?  Once the ads that do comparisons of what he said and believed before, and now says is his position, he is going to get another thousand holes in his boat.  Right now, I wouldn't give him a snowball's chance in hell of winning the election.

September is a month, that for some reason, the economy goes up.  Maybe it is because kids are all going back to college and school and they all need stuff and airplane tickets and all kinds of other things and anyway, the economy will show a jump in September as it ALWAYS DOES, the worst possible thing for the Republicans -- right before the election.  They are counting on the economy to continue a slow dive and for Romney to come in and "save us".  I personally don't think he could save a livesaver, but that is just my opinion.

So, Kossacks, can they dump Romney?  Then, second question, who would they put in his place?

I'm sorry, I forgot.

by jjmn

I woke up one morning, in my cool rich kid bed,
and a great thought came tumbling into my head!
Today I'm going to teach a lesson to a fag
By shaving his head, but I don't really brag.

All my pals were with me and egging me on
and the next thing I knew, the queer's hair was gone.
Never did I ever think of it, let it be what will be.
and what does some queer's hair ever matter to me?

I'm a Mormon and we are above all and rich and strong
My Daddy is loaded, but I'll be more loaded before long.
Because after graduating Harvard and being so cool
I hired and fired my way to riches, acting just like a mule.

I have my bank accounts in Switzerland, and don't know if I paid
taxes, you know, what you do in America these days.
Now I'm running for President and have conveniently forgotten
those bad boy days, not so past, when I was really rotten.

The sad news, Willard, is that they are far from goodbye.
You don't know how to act, smile or be a genuine good guy.
You think your dog on your car for 12 hours should be joked about
And that is why Obama will smother you in a rout.  (probably will look like your car)

There may be a few dedicated Rethuglicans who believe you forgot
but the rest of us know that you remember a lot
How did you know that a embarrassed homo guy
would one day before elections could kick you in the eye.

And, to end this Willard, just to be fair
we have all been in school and we remember being there.
We don't conveniently forget everything that can hurt the chase
Because we won't be believed either, and that's your BEST case.

I have been a Democrat all my life.  I thought that there were times that there were Republicans who had a heart and a healthy discourse between Democrats and Republicans is really the founding of this country, isn't it?

I watched MILLIONS of people vote for Sarah Palin, carrying signs with the "N" word and I thought, what in the world has happened to this country?  The worst part is that she was PROUD of herself.  She was a befuddled nutjob who named her kids Trig and Trix and we were supposed to have her one second away from the nuclear codes?  Never has anyone fallen so far so fast as John McCain in my book, as when he chose this complete zombie after a vetting of one quick look at her rear end.  John, you lost five planes, and still got your wings, because your Daddy was in charge of the Navy in Nam.  Your plane went down on your first mission, and damn it, you did take it like a man.  That was your finest hour.  It went so far down from there, it is shameful.  It made me realize that the entire Republican party has lost its way and lost its love for this country.  I thought that was a bad time, but then we actually did it.  We voted for a fabulous man, a man of mixed color, and made him President.  It was one of the finest hours in our country since Victory Gardens and Rosie the Riveter in World War II.  Those of you who don't like Obama anymore because he wears blue buttons on his suits, or whatever picky thing you can come up with, are just as miserable as the Palinette winkies.  Obama is a dream.  He laughs.  He loves his wife with a passion.  He loves this country with a passion.  He adores his kids, and I bet he even reads to them.  He shakes his head when he sees the awful things that the Thugs say about him.  But he still smiles.  He sings.  I am in love with the President, and I always will be.  I loved everything about Harry Truman too, and I think this President is on a level with that man.  This is very high praise indeed.

Sharia law, GOP style

by jjmn

I was lying in bed unable to sleep, because my rheumatoid arthritis was acting up again and my knees were killing me.  NO, this is not about me, or my arthritis, but it is about how it took me five years to get insurance coverage through the state of Minnesota, and I still live on under 6 thousand dollars a year, because my father helps me and gives me a job to do for him here and there.

What the GOP wants to do to me is what I am here to discuss.  I am sure you have all heard of Sharia law, and just to give you a few tidbits, we will ONLY discuss GBW's good friends (you saw all that back slapping and great guys stuff, didn't you?) the Saudis.  Wahabi Muslims are the in crowd in Saudi Arabia.  If you are a woman there, you cannot drive a car, you must have a head scarf covering your face and body to your feet, and you cannot leave your home without a male companion, either a husband, father or brother.  We are led to believe that the Saudi's are our friends.  19 of the bombers of 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia.  They build gigantic Wahabi houses of worship around the world, yet, once these same men, who are not allowed to drink or touch unclean (un-muslim women) go wild.  They drink and smoke, also not allowed, but that is nothing.  The men are allowed to screw anything and anyone they want.  If their sister, daughter or wife does it, they stone her to death in a public square.  The Taliban, more radical even than the Saudis, would not allow any girls of any age to go to any school.  What is the point?  You will be covered from head to toe in black and be working in the home when I get home from whatever I feel like doing.  That is what we have with many of these Muslims.  I also personally know moderate and wonderful Muslims who understand that a fatwa is not a license to kill anyone they want, but a path to a personal relationship with Allah.  There is nothing in the Koran that says that anyone is allowed or demands made by Muhammed that they kill.  They have twisted the Koran to fit their formula of a Sharia world, and guess who is following their path?

Just shut your eyes and pretend...

by jjmn

When I was in grade school, some ..um 40 years ago, we had a sex education conversation.  The boys were led to one room, and because there were so many more girls in our class, we got the auditorium.  We were told about menstruation and kotex and belts and then the women who was an older woman and about 10 of us were actually listening, told us about how men could come upon us and force us to have sexual intercourse with them.  I seriously did not know what she meant, for my Mom, bless her, did not ever give me the talk, I don't know if it was out of embarrassment, but she failed me at that, but back to this woman.  She said, if that happens, I want you to CLOSE YOUR EYES and lay back and pretend you are enjoying it.  I still remember thinking if a boy did that to me I would fight like a rabid dog, but still didn't understand the whole concept.  I obviously do now, and when the moronic, insensitive Governor Tom Corbitt, of a once proud state of Pennsylvania told me to CLOSE MY EYES when I had an invasive procedure that was voted into law only to demean women and make them take one more step before they had an abortion....Sir, seriously, have you no shame?  Do you have daughters?  I always hope that their daughters have precarious situations that they have to make hard decisions about so they know what life for women is like, but this is beyond the pale.

So, my fellow wonderful women (and enlightened men) of the U.S.A., we need to stand up, shake off our cobwebs and show them who they are dealing with.  We have all kinds of things we can do that can make men uncomfortable.  We can also vote EVERY DAMN ONE OF THEM OUT OF OFFICE.  These people below are the architects of the War on Women.  Look what happened when we went after Rush's advertisers.  I hope NONE of you are buying anything he is selling, and if it is insurance, change companies.  Banks, move your account.  Every little bit hurts.

Before I get to the commandments, is it possible for ANYONE to write a good diary about the President?  Maybe I'm the only one left, but I still love the guy.  He was in my state today, and answered every question with honesty and truthfulness and even a little vitrol that is rarely seen from him, but he was the Obama I elected and still want to be our President.  Here's the news from the other side.  I have heard enough about Michelle Bachmann to make me ill, but just because she got 4,500 votes in Ames, Iowa, she is the "frontrunner".  My daughter goes to Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. School is out right now, and had it been in, 25,000 more people would have been in Ames, and an awful lot of them would NEVER vote for Bachmann.  I wonder how she would react to the triple number of students that voted for her at the gay rights rally at ISU last year.  I can tell you this, from my daughter, the Junior at Ames.  She doesn't know ANYONE who is against the gay rights amendment that passed in Iowa, and there are a lot of kids who are really proud that they are going to school in Iowa right now, when Iowa did something so unbelievably cool.  I have to admit that Iowa isn't the top ten of cool places to go to school, but now, it sort of is.

So, back to the tier of thugs that a lot of people here feel can beat Obama, and maybe should.  Really?  You REALLY want creationism taught in public schools?  You really want abortions banned under any condition whatsoever?  Let's look at them all and see how they stack up to the Democrat I am voting for in 2012.  The other day, the GOP top tier announced their own ten commandments.
