How low can the Fox bottom feeders go?  How deep is the Mariana Trench?

During the SOTU speech, President Obama heralded 102 year-old Desiline Victor for enduring a three-hour plus wait in line to vote and suggested legislation to remedy the voting snafus and long lines in states like Florida where she lives.

The next day on Fox News Radio's Kilmeade & Friends-- Brian Kilmeade, Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer laughed off Ms. Victor's woes, saying "what's the big deal?" and "this is a non-issue".  Hemmer said: "They held her up as a victim.  What was she a victim of?"

Really, you morons?  You really think by mocking an elderly black woman who lived through the entire civil-rights struggle and could remember a day when she could NOT vote, you can turn that dribble into a logical GOP talking point?

Stunning.  No wonder they live in an alternative universe.  It's the only way they can stay sane.

Ted Nugent: One Ugly American

by johnqpublic

We already know Ted Nugent is an asshole.  Say what you will about his music, but when it comes to his politics, it pretty obvious the guy is simply a hater.  The Nugents of this earth are the right-fighters who like to scream and yell and spit out their vile diatribes to burnish their reputations.  They belittle using race and gender slurs.  Conservative media loves to trumpets their hate, producing more hate and outrage, so they can win the next political argument.

But when TD wants to be a welcomed Capitol guest to listen to President Obama speak about his vision for America, many say hell no.  Yet I say bring him in, sit the boy down.  Have him take a gander at all the suits and robes and uniforms.  Let him breath in big government.  Show him what a real-life performance is all about.  Maybe the boy will learn something about respect and what it means to be an American.

Or maybe Nugent will just reaffirm the ugly American act.

Who the hell cares what Joe Walsh says?

Walsh is the EX- Congressman, crazy tea-partier, and mental case from Illinois who lost his seat (or ass, depending how you see it) in November.  Now, on the day that First Lady Michelle Obama flies to Chicago to attend the funeral of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, who was the victim of a senseless shooting just days after she had performed in the D.C. Inauguration, Walsh takes to Twitter to grouse about Mrs. Obama's intentions, complaining that it's "political".

Again, who the hell cares what Joe Walsh says?

Why doesn't he stand by his convictions, grab a crate of tea and jump into Boston Harbor and just leave us alone..

Let Bush tax cuts expire

by johnqpublic

Barry, Don't let the GOP get the upper hand in letting the tax rates remain for the rich.  Take the high road.  Everyone knows we need to reduce the deficit--your non-partisan commission, the Fed, the Tea Partiers--so then, show the American people you are committed to do just that, and that extending the Bush tax cuts would hurt America more in the long term, than short term.  Let them expire then introduce legislation in January for returning to the current tax rates for the middle class.

I voted for you because I wanted to HOPE we could have some CHANGE for once.  Not the same old crap.  Remember the guy who gave this speech? "The time for bickering is over. The time for games has passed. Now is the season for action."  If you were honest about not doing things because they were easy and would get you re-elected, then be honest with what really needs to be done for America.

Just saw a clip on CNN about another one of these health care town hall meetings with the "angry mobs".  This was in Pennsylvania hosted by our newest Democrat, Senator Spectator.  A woman got in his face, saying he needs to defend the Constitution because she did not want to see the U.S. become another "socialist" Russia.  The Senator stood there and said he that's what he's been doing for years.

The 2008 Republican Convention?

by johnqpublic

I wrote this in response to a rightwing blog that spun its own version of a mythical Democratic Convention, complete with a rundown of events.  I thought the humor was trite and unfunny, reinforcing the notion that conservatives don’t know a joke unless it came in the form of an RNC solicitation for 2008 donations.
