Okay, something is going on here. The Washington Post reports yesterday on "confident Dems" who are "laying out an agenda."
Now, normally, one would expect to roll their eyes at the Dem attempt to set an agenda. But holy crap folks, this one actually might work. It's based on four main ideas, that Dems would pass in the first weeks of a Democratic Congress:
1. Raise the minimum wage for the first time in 10 years.
2. Roll back the provision in Medicare D that prohibits the HHS from negotiating prices for drugs offered under the program.
3. Fully implement the recommendations of the bipartisan panel convened to shore up homeland security after 9/11 (port security, anyone?).
4. Reinstate lapsed rules that say any tax cuts or spending increases have to be offset by spending cuts or tax increases to prevent the federal deficit from growing.
