In his victory speech after the primary, Rand Paul said that he had a message from the tea party and will be their representative in Washington to take back the government.
Since his victory, the statements made by him tell us the following about the tea party
- It is racist - "Private businesses have the right to discriminate against black people". Their actions against the President and African-American congress people during the Health Care debate are also proof.
- Mean-spirited - "The disability act needs to be repealed". In one of their demonstrations, they abused a person in a wheelchair suffering from Parkinsons.
- Big business supporters - "It is un-American to criticize BP for the oil spill", "Accidents happen in coal mines". The tea party doesn't care for the individuals who earn their living from proximity to the Gulf of Mexico or the safety and health of the coal miners.
They are a bunch of white supremacists who don't like the fact that we have an African-American President. They are paid representatives of Big Business that care only for their profits.
The tea party does not represent the general population.
