A woman and her doctor discuss cancer treatment options.

They decide on Treatment "A"

Then the insurance company decides to chime in

The sanctity of the doctor - patient relationship is then flushed down a Conservative-funded toilet.

I'm sure you  know than it was your grandstanding on this issue (especially after the CA Supreme Court decision) that provided fodder for the opposition, and galvanized their base.

Dick Cheney endorses McCain

by MrBurns17

This, of course, is from the Duh! News Wire.... it couldn't have happened to a nicer candidate, or at a more inopportune moment for poor John.

Open Season on ACORN and the poor

by MrBurns17

Keeping track of all the recent Conservative attacks on poor people and their "lobby" (ACORN) is getting to be a bit of a task.
The latest "outrage du jour" involves these (oh so obviously fake) voter registration forms that a few idiots (?) decided to turn in.
A few things to consider here.....

Why Sarah Palin won this debate

by MrBurns17

One Monday night when I was in the 6th grade I sat down to do my geography homework. Our assignment was to learn about Italy. After many hours of memorizing facts and figures about this great country, I walked into class ready to handle any questions the teacher threw at me. As it turned out I misheard our teacher the Friday before; the actual assignment was about India. And yes the teacher called on me.

I like a good debate as much as the next person. Look up some of those old debates between William F. Buckley Jr. and Noam Chomsky when you can.... amazing stuff.
Of course John McCain is no Bill Buckley. Still, it would be a disservice to the American people (in the event that Sen. McCain does not attend tonight's debate), if Barack Obama just held a nationally televised press conference, without an opposing candidate providing counter-arguments and livening up the discussion.

If you read John Grisham's 2008 book "The Appeal" the parallels are frightening. In the book, Grisham tells the captivating story of a young attorney thrust into a race for the Mississippi Supreme Court. Behind the nefarious plan to sell him to the public and get him elected, is a powerful CEO who wants to get a judgment against his chemical company reversed so he can continue to undermine the public interest with impunity.

Sorry for the short diary, and many thanks for the "rescue" last night.
This race is a long shot, I know. And I don't expect this diary to make the Rec List, but it would be nice. Given the economic catastrophe that Ohio has experienced during the past 8 years, electing an honest working-class Democrat from this state shouldn't be too hard. Unfortunately Mike Carroll is facing an uphill battle against incumbent Jim Jordan.
