I have been dealing with a serious health issue for a while and so I will be retiring in June. At that point my 63 year old husband will lose my insurance as I am sure I won't be able to afford to cover him under cobra where I must stay.
So I have been trying to figure out how to handle an event that is beyond open enrollment. Also in the name of saving money I would like to insure our twin sons who are 24 and who have been working a while and we don't list them as dependents on our tax return. We previously insured them with private insurance policies which are not aca compliant. It was MUCH CHEAPER than putting on the family plan - like $400 a month cheaper - and the coverage was similar. So I approached healthcare.gov but the answers they gave were so complex and confusing that I am concerned for people in my situation who are not used to dealing with insurance like me. Maybe Kossacks can help me clear it up after the orange thing. Thanks for any help in advance
