I want to wish everyone a happy Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord.  Let us celebrate and renew our commitment to the things we value and hold dear to our hearts.  We must realize that our faith demands that we do all that is in our power to heal the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and provide shelter for the homeless.

Anyone who has read anything from George Lakoff knows you must establish a frame before policy.  Progressives are going to waste a lot of time trying to argue policy against Sarah Palin when we need to establish a deep indelible, unchangeable, moral frame that will have to be repeated over and over until it's cemented well in the brains of the voters.  Sarah Palin is a quitter.

Yes it's true.  The GOP not only lost the 2008 elections but lost by a wide margin.  Even as we speak, Stephen Hawking and a crack team of mathmeticians are crunching the numbers from every possible metric but the results remain the same.  The Republicans have such miniscule numbers that we can now state with full certainty that they are irrelevant.

Living by God's word, committment to God's laws, and embracing family values are not only honorable but desirable.  But when we enter the political arena or for that matter, any other profession that draws the public eye, you must remember that you're under the microscope and you will be judged more on what you do as opposed to what you say.

Happy Fathers day

by redstatefred

Being a father by marriage makes me none the less a father.  I have the same worries, the same hopes, the same love.  I've claimed them as my own.  I wish each and every father out there a happy fathers day.  It is the most important responsibility you will ever have.

Queen of Corruption

Haven't we seen this all before?  Cover-up, refuse to testify, stonewall.  Is it only a matter of time before George Bush pardons Sarah Palin?

Sundays without Tim

by redstatefred

Much has already been said about the passing of Tim Russert.  We were shocked and saddened by his sudden passing as we celebrate Father's Day.  I felt it fitting to give myself until Sunday to do my best to process all this and wait until Sunday to share my thoughts.

How often have you heard Republicans rail against Democrats they categorize as the intellectual elite.  Their argument attepts to wedge the less educated against those with more education.
