Yes, we’re all outraged at Susan Collins and her “concern”, but in how many of our outraged diaries do we mention Sara Gideon? How often have I read a diary about Moscow Mitch without seeing a link to Amy McGrath? Does Jamie Harrison have a chance against Lindsey Graham?
We need to emphasize voting FOR someone as much, if not more, than voting against.
If you write a diary about Susan Collins, could you please mention Sara Gideon? https://speakergideon.com
Who is Sara Gideon, you ask? I refer you to a link which goes into a little more detail; www.thecut.com/… Excerpts here:
“She championed Medicaid expansion — a policy that Maine voters later approved by referendum and that former governor Paul LePage obstructed — and helped to override LePage’s veto of a bill that made Narcan available over the counter to Mainers under the age of 21. (Maine experiences high rates of substance-use disorders, which LePage, an admirer of President Trump, once blamed on “guys by the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty … from Connecticut and New York.”) After Janet Mills, a Democrat, defeated Shawn Moody, a Republican, to replace LePage in the governor’s mansion, Gideon has worked more amicably with the executive branch and passed legislation that expanded abortion rights in the state.”
I apologize for the short diary. I wish I had time to research every democrat running against a republican senator. But every time we diary outrage at a republican, please consider a link to the alternative.
It’s stupid early and I have to get to work.
