This is just a very short song that came to my head during lunch last week.
The first part is Obama making a case for war, and the second part undermines his desire for war. I like it.
I have an idea of how I could extend it, but I think what I have now is a good enough start for publication.
I voted for Obama the first time because McCain wanted to start a war with Iran.
I voted for Obama the second time because 14 of the 17 foreign policy advisers Mitt had were neocons from W's administration (assholes like John Bolton).
I feel so betrayed by Obama for so many reasons (Wall Street, whistle-blowers, drones) I am sure if Dick Chaney had a heartbeat, it would be pounding loud with pride.
So it is actually with a heavy heart if publish these comedic lyrics.
In 1861 this nation had a rare opportunity. The cruel short-sighted traitors in the south wanted to secede from the United States and establish their own nation so they could keep their slaves. Unfortunately, President Lincoln feared losing 11 states would reflect badly on his legacy. Like an abusive husband, used physical violence to keep them from leaving him. As a result, these states have hung around the neck of the USA like a millstone.
Last week my friend publish a letter to the editor to the Daily Herald explaining why so many people voted Republican. He cited two unrelated scientific studies on the human genome and dopamine receptors and brought them together to explain the Republicans were either Neanderthal hybrids or unable of learning from their mistakes. There were 125 comments. The Progressives were laughing their asses off at the theory but the Regressives were seething.
Yesterday there were two "I hate the Letter Writer" letters in the Daily Herald. They were: “Mean-spirited letter should not have run,” (44 comments) by Rhonda Sarafin and “Rant against GOP was way off-base” (44 comments), by Ron Edhlund.
I think my friend stuck a chord. I will print his original letter below.
In the Daily Herald there is a Letter to the Editor that asks the question, "If the Republican Party only represents the richest two percent of the population, why would any person outside that two percent vote Republican?"
The author of the letter cites two unrelated scientific studies of the human genome and brings them together with hilarity.
See the link below. And take time to read one of the 80 and counting comments. The progressives are laughing and the regressives are steaming.
I got permission from the author to reproduce it. He is a friend of mine and was the one that told me to look for it in Saturday's Daily Herald.
To understand the coming financial collapse of US banks you need to understand how they work. Banks take your money and give you interest. They are able to pay interest by finding people that they loan your money to. The interest they charge is higher than the interest they pay. The difference between what they charge and what they pay is the profit. Under Fractional Reserve Lending, a bank will lend many times over the cash they have in their reserve. They do this under the theory that people will not withdraw their money because they are earning interest. Fractional Reserve Lending is creating money out of thin air because it is not fully backed up by the reserves. In fact, banks are known to lend as much as ten times as much as they actually have in reserve. In the case of CDOs, Wall Street lent over 35 times as much money as they had in reserves.
The Kurdistan Democratic Congress (KADEK) dissolved itself in 2001 after it was designated a terrorist organization, but it reformed as two different organizations with the same goal: an independent Kurdish state. The Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) is an ally of the United States because it attacks military forces in Iran . The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) was labeled a terrorist organization because they attack military forces of a NATO ally: Turkey. The leader of the PJAK, Abdul Rahman Hazi Admed, publicly avows that the PJAK and PKK are brothers in arms for the fight for a Kurdish Independent state, yet the United States has only declared one brother a terrorist..
Once a month our company has something called, "What’s Happening" that is hosted in turn by different departments. It is a simple affair when a department spokesman introduces different speakers and then reads off anniversaries, birthdays, and promotions. The most challenging part is the ice breaker. The ice breaker is something fun just to get everybody in the mood. For instance, the Contracts Department had an American Idol contest and different employees sang. The winner was a girl who sang opera.
My manager decided a group participation exercise would be fun and she decided on Origami. We have two Asians on our team, but they are too terrified to speak in front of 175 people, so I was selected. I thought it was unusual that a man of Irish descent would lecture and demonstrate an Asian art form. I did not think anybody would find an Origami presentation from an Irishman convincing since there is no Irish connection to that art form, unless, of course, I invented a connection.
Just in time for Christmas, it has been reported that there has been a virgin birth. Is this what Christians have been waiting for?
I no longer think voting is enough. After seeing what Republicans have done to our country I decided I had to do more. I called the Dan Seals campaign and spoke to Jeremy. He said to meet his group today at 9:30am at the Wheeling Democratic Township office. I went to the Democratic Headquarters for my township to find a number of people waiting for the office to open. They were either fighting mad or disgusted.
Intelligent design is the belief that life forms are so complex that their creation can't be explained by Darwinian evolutionary theory alone, but rather points to intentional creation, presumably divine. I suppose one can argue that; but I have a different view.
