In March, 2011 I wrote a diary here noting that Obama had no interest in being the head of the Democratic party.   I noted that he ditched Howard Dean at the earliest moment, and that his lack of interest in politics had hurt the party badly in 2010.

Well, here we are the morning after in 2014, and if anything, it's only gotten worse....

I was going to comment on this diary, but the comment grew enough that I figured a new diary would be the better mode.   So here you go:

Human beings are the most dangerous animal, by far.

When a human being is utterly broken and a proven man eater, it should be destroyed.   We don't think twice about this concept with chimps and lions and pit bulls and other similar cases when a face is torn off or a child mauled.

With Walker busting his move last night, the re-ignited culture wars, and the current budget battle, its now become impossible for the tensions within the Democratic party, and here on DailyKos, to remain muted.

The question is now upon us: what if the President has no interest in being the head of the party?

I need to start many diaries and comments by saying (like Dr. Dean) that I hate Republicans and everything they stand for.  I need to say that because I am a little to the right of most people here, especially on two topics: guns and speech.

I am truly suprised by the reaction to the ruling in the Citizen's United case, because I think it actually helps the left.

Why the counter-intuitive position ?   Well for one thing, corporations already own the system: how much worse can it get ?   But there are other reasons too.....

Julian E. Zelizer is a professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School.  CNN has his learned commentary on it's front page right now.

Zelizer thinks Obama would be a failure if "Obama could end his first year in the White House without a major piece of legislation beyond the economic stimulus."

Set aside the notion that the stimulus itself was a worthy accomplishment: its a total misreading of who Obama is and how is trying to govern.....
