The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting the first of four expected 2020 polls from Great Lakes Polls. GLP is the result of the work of Baldwin Wallace University, and now in partnership with Ohio Northern and Oakland universities.
Lauren Copeland, associate director of the Community Research Institute at Baldwin Wallace University shared this with the Plain Dealer.
“The four states voted for Barack Obama in 2012 and Donald Trump in 2016, so we wanted to take a dive into the issues for this election," Copeland said Tuesday.
“Each poll will be on different issues. We really want to understand the voters in all four states. ... We want to know if Ohio, for example, is trending more conservatively.”
State polling currently:
Asked if the election “were held today," the unknown Democratic candidate led Trump:
46.8% to 33.9% in Michigan, with 19.3% undecided.
44.3% to 39.4% in Ohio, with 16.3% undecided.
47.1% to 37.3% in Pennsylvania, with 15.6% undecided.
47.5% to 34.1% in Wisconsin, with 18.4% undecided.
Good news for now, but a lot of undecideds….which broke against us in 2016.
The article is loaded with more stats and is worth the read. Next poll is set for this spring.
