These restaurants or their franchisees are threatening to layoff their employees or cut their hours to avoid paying for health care for their hard-working, full-time equivalent employees.
Good news and bad news in the Richmond area. I voted in Chesterfield today, there was a steady flow of people, but nothing like the volume 4 years ago.
The good news is that the main OFA office in Richmond ran out of packets for people to use for door to door GOTV, so there was a big turnout of volunteers today. Also, I made calls and everyone I spoke to today was supporting Obama!
Below the squiggly is my letter to the editor in Richmond, VA. The tone is not nearly as urgent and one-sided as I feel about this race, but I'm trying to appeal to the many moderates in this conservative town. I'd be really happy for Dems to get everything we want, but as a realist I know we are going to have to accept some compromises.
I do think this is an important and under-discussed point that will resonate with fence sitters who are looking for a bi-partisan approach. If you agree, please feel free to share.
