Kos e-mails me urging me to sign a petition for the national popular vote. My response is the same as my response to Common Cause and others who promote various weak pro-democratic (or pro-democratic-republican) measures (e. g. elimination of the Electoral College, restriction of money for advertising including reversal of Citizens United by amendment, eliminating gerrymandering, fighting vote suppression, etc.) while leaving out the most important measure — reform of the mathematical voting system i. e. the combination of the constraints on valid ballots and the tallying rule.

Daily Kos writes to me, "Join the campaign today, to show that you’re part of a majority of Americans who support reproductive freedom". The petition assumes a false dichotomy between legal abortion and "anti-choice".
Would you support a constitutional amendment to substitute a five-person executive council for the current single-person US presidency?
