    Unless there is some reason to seal a record or close a hearing to the public.  I'm not sure how having a video record changes anything.

      There's a huge difference, too, between video and transcript.  You don't see a lot of transcripts go viral on youtube.

      If they're being filmed, attorneys and judges have an unfortunate tendency to play to the cameras.  At the very least, such footage should not be released while the trial is going on.

        The OJ trial was an outlier.  A lot of trials are filmed, some are broadcast.   I'm not sure you can look at a single trial debacle and say, "they are all like that", when obviously they aren't.  It's the exception.

        And that mess was all the Judge's fault; he should have either shut down the cameras or the lawyers.  Instead he fed into the circus.

        Minority rights should never be subject to majority vote.

        Using the OJ trial as an example is like using the Titanic to argue against ship travel.
