    but you hit the nail on the head.  There are plenty of different crimes that are occurring (drug laundry, Libor rigging, micro-trading, security rating collusion, etc.) The reason we don't prosecute any is the fear of retaliation from all.  Actual prosecutions would be a shift in power (as practiced) and would trigger responses from that power base.  Others have articulated all of the ways the vampire squid has its tentacles wrapped around our necks (starting with campaign contributions), but they can all be summed up with the cover-phrase "the markets won't like it."

      It's always the sub-text in our various comments and essays, but i think that's the first time I heard the entire Bankster vs People/Representative situation described with such precision. It's about holding power.
