  •  maybe check with (7+ / 0-)

local ordinances as far a upkeep if your neighbor really is letting things go totally wild.  But generally, plants are not gonna know boundaries, and ordinances may be such that it's just whatever is on your property you can do as you will.

Maybe you can suggest to your neighbors that keeping things in check will make it easier as years go on?  Make it positive approach and not negative?

    •  They keep up their yard, (7+ / 0-)

just not the west border where it touches my driveway.

If their yard was interfering with public property (like the sidewalk) or it was so bad that it amounted to a legal "nuisance" (which it doesn't since they do take care of 90% of it), then there are ordinances that come into play. Otherwise, no.

      •  okay - then (7+ / 0-)

just try the "lets be good neighbors" route.

You've been doing this all these years!!  They are probably thinking - hey, this is great, we never have to work on that side because she takes care of it for us!

        Really.
