…if Israel is going to survive in the near term, they have no choice but deliberate genocide. They are in the same position that the US settlers were when then committed continent-wide genocide.

They are doomed, of course, because the universe will rebalance itself:  The laws of physics in the human realm.

But, for the moment, genocide is Israel's only hope.

For an idea that does not at first seem insane, there is no hope.

have in mind for themselves after that?

This isn't the 19th Century.  I like to think we value human life a little more than that.

How many innocent human beings has the US murdered in the past decade, whilst on their deliberate international murder-sprees?

international murder sprees have we enabled, as we are doing right now with Israel?

The US is certainly not the shining city on the hill.  All the more reason for US citizens to decry what is done in our name when it is this wrong.

Hamas is clear that it wants to destroy Israel, that it intends to kill people to do it.   But quite frankly they lack the power to make it happen.  That doesn't excuse them, but it puts them in a different class of dangerous than a group that could.

But Israel can destroy Gaza, and it continues to steal land in the West Bank, squeezing out the homes, culture and lives of Palestinians.

This isn't two rivals with the ability to severely damage each other to achieve territory, resources, etc.,  the typical scenario of a war.   This is an occupying power using brute force to make life unbearable, to take away all hope of a future from a group of people because those people violently rejected their lands being usurped by foreign powers and killed the people put in place by those foreign powers.  Both the Jews and Palestinians are victims and perpetrators.   But since 1948,  Israel has grown in power based on US support to the point where Hamas is simply no real threat to the existence of Israel.  They have become the excuse for Israel to destroy Palestinians without any fear of reprisal.  That must stop.  There is no way forward but genocide if it doesn't stop.

    •  What? No. Simply, no. Not fair nor balanced. (3+ / 0-)

      This is a through-the-looking-glass comment.

Mass killing needs to be stopped, period.

      That is the immediate goal.

    •  Did you really say this? That the USA couldn't (1+ / 0-)

have been formed without slaughtering Native Americans and killing their culture?

They had a choice, and chose slaughter. In the name of God, Christ, Capitalism, and every other b.s. philosophy and excuse for what is simply genocide.

    •  That is an ugly comment. (0+ / 0-)

You do not speak in "fairness" and "balance."

I'm disgusted by the coldness of your thinking.
