  •  US Dept of Interior - Ken Salazar (8+ / 0-)

In the non-weasel world, the guy in charge has to take responsibility. That's why he gets paid the big bucks.

It appears this controversy has been going on for a long time.  According to the links in the diary, complaints have been filed with the Dept. of Interior.

So, yeah, if Salazar still doesn't know about it, he gets the blame.  Last time I checked, Salazar reports to Obama.

...it was a point of information.  Who triggered the investigation and on what grounds?  The civil service still runs on due process for the most part.  And civil service personnel who have been through a reorganization after a scandal often have some axes to grind.

I'm sure that Salazar will become aware of the controversy very soon.  For the moment, President Obama is otherwise occupied.

      •  Who triggered the investigation (4+ / 0-)

and on what grounds is unknown:

In this instance, not only is the source of the allegations against Dr. Monnett unknown but so are the allegations themselves
         Complaint

It's an investigation into secret allegations coming from a secret source.

The subjects of the complaint are listed as:

BOEM Director Michael Bromwich, BOEM Alaska Regional Director (Acting) James Kendall, Deputy Regional Director Jeffery Loman and other agency officials
IG Special Agent Eric May and his chain-of-command
        •  Thanks (0+ / 0-)

Looks like a complaint to the IG.

So "the Obama administration"....is just poorly considered spin by nervous environmental activists.

It's OK to be nervous in this political climate.  But jumping to conclusions is inadvisable.
