        It's a purely symbolic vote.  The bill dies in the Senate anyway.

        Any amendments to it die with it.  It doesn't matter what Boehner offers them, and his revolting Congressmen (I mean that in both senses) know that.

        They don't want to be on record as having voted to raise the debt ceiling.  Period.  And since they can't possibly get anything out of this, that's where the story ends.
