  •  Emerson & Farr (6+ / 0-)

Shit like that just pisses me off...

It's one thing if you run a privately held company, especially one you started... or even a privately held company that your daddy or granddaddy built.

But Emerson is a publicly held company and Farr is just the CEO.  He didn't start the company, he joined it.  Whoopty-friggin-do that he's been with it for 25 years and rose to the position of CEO, it's not his company.

Rising into the top floor corner office of a publicly held company shouldn't give you leave to then use that company as your own personal political action committee.

If the CEO of my firm ever did any such thing - and she wouldn't - I don't care how far apart we might be on the org chart, I'd be letting her know about it and typing up my resignation letter as I did so.  Before I exited, I'd be sure to express the same to every other employee, not to mention making sure that the board of directors (who probably wouldn't care) and every well-heeled investor and fund manager (who might) knew the reason I was leaving and the fact that I wasn't shy about broadcasting that reason.

And no - I wouldn't care who or which party said CEO was boosting.

Full Disclosure: I am an unpaid shill for every paranoid delusion that lurks under your bed - but more than willing to cash any checks sent my way
