But we had a switching mechanism burn out awhile back and we did not know but were on our own solar for maybe a couple of months. One thing we have trouble with is the local rural electric coop seems to charge us a higher rate for our lower usage( WTF) so I am pushing for solar producers to organize into little local cartels. Really, we need to have some clout or the utility companies will use our energy and still find a way to abuse consumers. The coop is better than Duke Energy but it takes a lot of supervision to make sure we get our credits and all. Still the system is overall okay, just would like to make it better and more encouraging for others.

A local dairy here put up a bunch of solar panels in their pasture. We are seeing more and more. I wish the schools would go for this - all that unused roof space!
