  •  the John & Ken Show is mostly worthless (12+ / 0-)

Glad to hear they are redeeming themselves by getting the word out on this atrocity.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens all too often to the homeless mentally ill.

These are the least of our brothers and sisters, indeed. Nobody seems to care until something like this happens, though.

But I agree with them on this one.  As far as their trashing of public employee unions etc.  Forget it.  I didn't want to get into who they are and what most of their coverage is, like heads on a stick, tax revolt etc, I just didn't think it was relevant.

almost always. But I also was listening yesterday afternoon and (even with their angle that the main stream media including their hated LA Times was ignoring the story since the victim was white) it was eye opening. With the new Wall Street Journal wrap up on KTLK, I've been venturing more and more into the dark side (usually for about 3 minutes at which point I start yelling at my radio, calling them liars and switching to Pacifica).

Anyway, I think they said he was fairly small, like 135 pounds or something. Now I've heard that schizophrenic people can sometimes display extra strength, but I fail to see how the Fullerton police can have any legitimate claim that this excessive force was in any way warranted. A 135 lb man on his stomach is not a threat. Especially to like 6 trained cops.

Frankly J&K surprised me a bit with their anti-cop rhetoric. I always figured they would be law and order types. Until I remembered that the police are public workers. I guess that alone allows them to be subject to extra right-wing scrutiny. In this case of course, that scrutiny is welcomed by all those concerned with mental illness problems in today's society as well as police brutality.

I am curious though about why this story had to go to England and then back here to J&K and DailyKos before I was made aware of it  - especially since it happened 35 miles from where I live.

If he was hispanic they would have praised the police for dealing with the immigration problem.
