    I interpret Prof's comment "I can get along with a Randite" to mean that he has points of agreement with Rand, but he does not consider himself one of them.

    In a number of his stories, Heinlein has his heroes do decidedly un-Galtian things, such as the inventor couple of "Let There Be Light" or the protagonist who learns better of "Coventry".  One of the themes that runs through many of his tales is that a man has a responsibility to the community he lives in, which is antithetical to the Rand doctrine of The Individual Uber Alles.
