It only got 177 votes for.

This was Boehner's "proof" that the Reid Bill cannot get a majority in the House.  Because it didn't come close to 218 votes (a majority) in this vote.

to allow Blue Dogs to vote no safely.  He didn't friggin' need a super majority if he had control over his caucus after fewer than 24 hours since the last bribe he offered.

    •  And you don't think that was choreographed? (5+ / 0-)

HR 2563 was a shill to allow the House to do a "tit for tat".   I'm not paying attention to any more of this nonsense.  They will either get sixty votes for some compromise on this in the Senate and send a marked up S. 627 back or they won't.

And frankly if they don't, socialism will come faster in this country.

      •  And what are the American people gonna think when (0+ / 0-)

the Rs killed everything in the Senate, and voted a monstrosity in the House?  If Mitch were being smart, he would not have allowed himself to be stuck holding the filibuster bag on the Reid bill, because that means Rs squlched all alternatives to date to default, while howling that they didn't. And under Senate rules, there is no time left to mount a wholly new plan.
