  •  Its not gonna pass the house (5+ / 0-)

and when it doesn't it will show one of two things, either...

The greatest acts of brinksmanship by a sitting president I can remember.

    Or

We got really fucking lucky after one of the greatest acts of capitulation.

Fucked if I know which one.

He's got the votes--he ALWAYS had the votes. It was just a matter of pretending that he didn't, playing good cop/bad copy with the teabaggers, to get the best deal possible. He pretty much got it. Except for being able to take Air Force 1 out for a quick trip to Cincinnati for some 5-way chili.

      •  He actually doesn't have the votes without (5+ / 0-)

Pelosi's help.  The Dem's are going to have to suck it up and help this asshole pass his legislation without getting a single thing for it.  This will help defeat the Dem's in 2012, the base will be so demoralized they will stay home and it will give the election to the Republicans.

They were sent to Washington to reign in spending and they Did it!
Our side has been completely out-played again by the Republicans.

is going to tank the economy and Obama is going to get the blame   Someone once told me that Harvard people weren't all that smart, I guess they were right.

            •  When I was applying to colleges in the early 80's (0+ / 0-)

the word was that Harvard looked great on your resume and was a wonderful college experience, and of course extremely hard to get into, but amazingly easy to graduate from with minimal effort because they didn't want to look like a finishing school for legacy dilettantes, which it obvious partly is--and which, ironically, guaranteed that it would look precisely like such a school.

I didn't bother to apply, not having the grades or scores or pull to get in, nor really caring about that bogus credential which mostly would matter in paths I didn't care to take. I got into another Ivy and got an actual education.

Don't get me wrong. Most people who get into Harvard are smart. But they're not heads and tails above the rest of us, for the most part. They just think they are, which allows them (in their minds) to slack off and pull this fatuous BS.

        •  And they would do this, why? (0+ / 0-)

Unless they want to follow Obama back into civilian life in 2012.

          Republican tears sustain me.
