  •  We still have primaries... (6+ / 0-)

and quite often- those primaries at all levels have stark choices.

Hell, of late, I've been particularly amused by the sudden love Dennis Kucinich is shown around here, because near as I can tell- he's saying the same thing that he's always said. Yet, I don't believe the guy has garnered enough votes to win a single delegate in the Democratic primary.  What's more, I've been on this site for two presidential primaries now and I KNOW, he's never been anywhere close to getting even plurality support on this supposedly "progressive" site.

We have always had conservative poseurs pretending to believe the things Kucinich honestly believes, or at least giving a semi-convincing appearance of doing so.  And most of us have been dumb enough to buy what they're selling.  Ain't happening anymore.

DC politicians don't realize they're corrupt for the same reason fish don't realize they're wet.

      •  Well, I can tell you that I'd personally (6+ / 0-)

never vote for him...and that would include in congressional primary if he happened to choose my particular district as his next.

I guess we can turn this place into an ideological thunderdome and see which one of us stays and which goes.  My money is on me, but I completely understand if yours is on you.

here in the pie wars. The prgamatists vs the hard left.

It isn't hard to see how the hard left has done a lot to damage their reputation.

And these days I think folks identify liberalism with welfare, and it might be important for folks around here to wake up to that fact.

you just can not pretend like spitting in the face of some progress, because it is 'not enough ' is going to get you more progress
